Marvel's Spider-Man is an action-adventure game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4, based on the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man and developed by Insomniac Games.
Released on September 7, 2018, it is the very first game. The game covers both Peter Parker and Spider-Man facets of the character, and tells a new story about Spider-Man which isn't tied to an present book, video game, or film.

Critics called it one of the best superhero games created, praising especially the battle its gameplay and mechanics, graphics, narrative, characterization, and style of new york, though believed it lacked invention in its own design that was open-world. Spider-Man features a large ensemble cast of characters in the history of Spider-Man comics. Peter Parker (voiced by Yuri Lowenthal) is a 23-year old research assistant, who profits superhuman abilities after being bitten by a genetically-modified spider. Implementing a secret identification, Parker uses these skills to look after the taxpayers of New York City since the superhero Spider-Man. Parker is used by his friend and mentor, the honored scientist Dr. Otto Octavius (William Salyers). Spider-Man's experience brings him into contact with other characters, such as Miles Morales (Nadji Jeter) and his parents, NYPD Officer Jefferson Davis (Russell Richardson) and Rio Morales (Jacqueline Pinol), Spiderman OsCorp CEO and New York mayor Norman Osborn (Mark Rolston), along with Silver Sablinova (Nichole Elise), leader of the private military firm Sable International.
The mission of spider-Man brings him into conflict with various supervillains. Fisk is sent to prison, but cautions that he had been the only person. Fisk's lack gives rise to a supernaturally powered, demonic-mask sporting gang called the Demons who start dividing the city for the strong Mr. Side, who can corrupt individuals through his touch. Spider-Man must also face Electro (Josh Keaton), Rhino (Fred Tatasciore), Scorpion (Jason Spisak), Vulture (Dwight Schultz), Shocker (Dave B. Mitchell), Taskmaster (Brian Bloom), Screwball (Stephanie Lemelin), and Tombstone (Corey Jones).
A lot of other characters--such as Parker's and Watson's childhood friend Harry Osborn (Scott Porter), who has disappeared on a lengthy European holiday, along with anti-Spider-Man podcast host J. Jonah Jameson (Darin p Paul) have voice characters in the major game. The game features several references to the Marvel Comics world, including Avengers Tower, the Wakandan Embassy, the Sanctum Sanctorum, Nelson & Murdock Attorneys at Law, Rand Corporation, and Alias Investigations.
